Michael Grandage Company

MGC is a London-based production company working in the West End, on Broadway and more recently in film.

This was another co-production, after Westminster Abbey, with M&C:XD, our principal design and user experience partners. MGC trusted to their experience and flair to design a visually stunning website that would showcase their work and clients. Pixel<to>Code then took on the challenge of bringing the design vision to life.

They have several strands to their business, and the design and build needed to draw these strands together into a cohesive whole. As well as producing their own shows, MGC offer their experience in managing other productions in the West End, in smaller venues, and on tour. They act as agents for a stable of leading directors and writers, and provide bespoke consultancy services for Arts organisations in the public and commercial sectors. MGC are known for their efforts to reach new audiences, and they run their own charity, MGCfutures, which supports future theatre makers with mentoring and a bursary scheme.

The site is built on our Simplismo platform, which builds upon the strengths of Umbraco to provide an intuitive editing experience. Animation and video is used plentifully to create a theatrical experience on the production pages, making the cast and creative credits, photos and video clips a pleasure to browse. There is a simple and easy to use e-commerce module to offer scripts and other merchandise, and the subscription and contact forms are integrated with MailChimp.
